In order to run Visual DataFlex Web Applications, the Visual DataFlex Web Application Server needs to be installed. The Web Application Server works in concert with Microsoft IIS, providing a state-of-the-art platform for powering advanced Web applications!

The VDF Web App Server is available in different editions, from from a "light" edition for small intranets to an "enterprise" version capable of supporting up to 255 Internet Edition servers in a cluster configuration to allow for highly scalable, load-balancing, fault tolerant web application server deployments.

Electos is a Visual DataFlex Web Application, and therefore needs to be deployed using the VDF Web App Server version that corresponds with the version of Electos being installed.

Special Note:
Electos Personal comes with a special version of the VDF Web App Server that does allow for an unlimited number of sessions, but does not support advanced load features such as process-pooling.

Warning - if you have already installed a licensed edition of the VDF Web App Server on the computer you intend to install Electos Personal on, your licensed installation of the VDF Web App Server will be "cancelled," and the installation will revert the WAS version to the limited edition included with Electos Personal.
